Fixing Canon Printer with Error Code P08 / 5200

The display on the printer appears with blinking lights. It will show character P then 0 then 8 (P08). That means the print head temperature above the specified value. You can simply replace the ink cartridge or refill the cartridge, but it is not working for some case. This tutorial is working for MP258/MP250 but it might be working for other type like the newer model MP270 series or previous model MP198 series.

Follow these steps to fix and reset the error.

1. Turn Off the Printer
2. Remove Cartridge
3. Refilling the cartridge
4. Reinstall the cartridge
5. Turn The printer ON

If in case, the printer still does not work you can use the following methods:

1. The printer is off and plug the power cord.
2. Press the button STOP / RESET and hold, then press and hold the POWER button
3. POWER button still  press, release the STOP / RESET, then press the STOP / RESET 2 times in a state of the power button is pressed.
4. Release both buttons simultaneously
5. The printer will proceed in a while (a while), then the LCD panel will show the number zero (0)
6. Computer will detect NEW DEVICE, Ignore it…
7. Press the power button, then the printer will turn off
8. Press the power button again, then the printer will be  ready to use

Ink Cartridge Cannot Be Recognized - Canon iP1880

I've experienced printer error today. My printer were Canon Pixma iP1880. The error is described as follow:

1. There is error message “Ink cartridge cannot be recognized ” on before the printing process.
2. The Blinking LED occured during error: 5x LED blinking orange then green LED blinks 1x.

I have tried some actions to solve this problem:

1. Reset printer cartridge
2. Clean the connectors on the cartridge board

Result: Negative, the error still occurs.
Final action: Replace the COLOR cartridges, and the problem was resolved.

Reset Catridge Empty on Canon MP198

Sometimes, after you filling up the printer cartridge with the ink, there is error message that the printer still can't run due to empty cartridge. It will make a question, why after re-fill the cartridge, the printer can't run..?

To solve this error, your cartridge need to be reset. Just push and hold the reset button for about 5 seconds and your printer will run properly. In some cases, you need to take out the cartridge and then plug the cartridge again.
